Prior to joining StepStone, Mr. Randel was Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer at Citi Private Equity, a business unit of Citigroup managing private equity co-investment, fund of fund, and mezzanine products. He was responsible for building out and managing the financial discipline and processes for the firm including the quarterly asset valuation process. Mr. Randel managed the group's general administration functions as well as oversaw key control, audit, fiduciary, and compliance processes.
Prior to his CFO position, Mr. Randel was Assistant Treasurer within Citigroup Treasury. In this role, he was responsible for building and managing the rating agency relationships for the firm and he also developed and led the company's fixed income investor relations efforts.
Before Citi, Mr. Randel was Vice President of Corporate Analysis at Associates First Capital which was acquired by Citigroup in 2000. There he managed a team responsible for analyzing and interpreting performance drivers and trends. Mr. Randel was also responsible for evaluating acquisitions and divestitures and the impact of transactions on key financial ratios of the firm.
Prior to that Mr. Randel was Budget/Forecast Coordinator at Bank One where he managed a team of Analysts responsible for the national commercial line of business planning center.
Mr. Randel received his BGS in Business Administration from the University of Kansas and his MBA from the University of Southern California.
