Mr. Coelho focuses on the Venture Capital sector, which includes primary and secondary investments in information technology, life sciences and clean technology funds worldwide. Mr. Coelho has advised and invested in technology companies in Silicon Valley throughout his career. He leverages this experience for StepStone and its clients in navigating the high potential, but uniquely challenging venture capital landscape.
Prior to joining StepStone, Mr. Coelho was an Assistant Vice President with ATEL Capital Group, a venture debt and asset-based lender in San Francisco. Mr. Coelho has also served as a venture capital advisor to Unigestion, an alternative asset manager based in Geneva, and was previously an Associate at Plantagenet Capital Management, where he focused on direct private equity and venture capital investments.
Prior to this, Mr. Coelho was an Associate in the Investment Banking Group at Piper Jaffray & Co. in San Francisco and Menlo Park, where he advised on over $4 billion of public and private equity offerings, mergers and acquisitions for technology companies. Mr. Coelho began his career at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto.
Mr. Coelho received his MBA and BS in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
